Following a long period of stalking Aron, the Argentine MP Motorsport driver executed a bold move at Tamburello to secure his first F2 victory early in his rookie campaign. Zane Maloney, the current championship leader, finished on the podium despite multiple crashes at the start. Amaury Cordeel of Hitech claimed pole for the 25-lap Formula 2 Sprint after laps were added post-qualifying. The race began later than scheduled, with Colapinto in second position ready to challenge Cordeel. The grid included Sauber Academy Driver Maloney in fifth, Antonelli and Bearman in sixth and eighth, and Bortoleto in tenth. The race saw chaos, with a Safety Car deployed due to a multiple-car collision in the opening chicane, causing several drivers to retire early.
